Omnaris Advertising

What is Omnaris anyway? According to the website Omnaris.com it is a nasal spray that is used to treat the swelling and inflammation that occurs with allergies. It is only available by prescription.

As with all prescription drugs it has some interesting side effects. Although the list is shorter than some. You know the ones I mean. "Side effect may include explosive vomiting and suicidal thoughts or sudden death. Please call your doctor if you experience and of these." Yes, I will be sure to call from the pay phone on the other side after I'm dead.

So the possible Omnaris side effects include yeast infections of the nose & throat, nose bleeds, eye problems, headaches, hormonal imbalances, stunted growth, etc. They sound pretty tame except for the hormonal & growth stuff. But it is a steroid and although they are widely used, they still are dangerous.

Ok, back to our reason for being here. What is with the slightly creepy ads? An army of little men spraying stuff up a woman's nose? In a couple of them it looks like she is lying down. Is she asleep? Are they the nasal allergy relief fairies?

I saw a new television ad this morning. There is a woman standing at a window, below her is a window box filled with flowers. She is stuffy & can not smell them. She gets her hit of Omnaris from the Colonel or whoever the little army men take their orders from & exclaims "I can smell the roses!"

Only one problem, the flowers ARE NOT ROSES. The flowers shown are Gerbera Daisies. Sometimes called Gerber or African Daisies. Did the illustrators (computer graphics people or whoever) not speak with the dude who wrote the copy?

Do they think people are so stupid that they would not know the difference between roses and daisies?

Just saying...
